Tonight on KMBC 9's News at 10, Jeremy Hubbard reported about KBEQ's ban of all the Dixie Chicks songs on their radio station. The two other stations, WDAF and KFKF have followed suit.Reporting on a Chicks' concert, the Web site for the United Kingdom paper The Guardian said singer Natalie Maines told the crowd, "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

Disc Jockey Shotgun Jackson was featured breifly taking phone calls from patriotic listeners. Program Director Mike Kennedy, the big cheese who made the call mid-morning, told KMBC that listeners called in and said that they would not listen to KBEQ if they kept playing the chicks.
