Janet Jackson, whose revealing Super Bowl performance proved embarrassing to her and roiled the television industry, will perform next month on Fox's "On Air with Ryan Seacrest."

Her April 2 appearance, among her first since the Super Bowl, was announced Wednesday on Seacrest's show. Jackson has a new album, "Damita Jo," to tout.

"I think we're trusting her and she's trusting us that it will go without incident," said Fox spokesman John Rizzotti.

Seacrest's show began pursuing Jackson before the Super Bowl incident, he said.

The Feb. 1 game's halftime show on CBS ended with singer Justin Timberlake exposing Jackson's breast to 90 million viewers. A costume malfunction was famously blamed and Jackson apologized.

She will be Seacrest's sole guest and will perform for a crowd outside the Hollywood-area complex where the show is taped. A similar show with Britney Spears attracted about 5,000 people, Rizzotti said.

More are expected to turn out to see Jackson, he said, adding that it was uncertain whether she'll perform one or two songs after Seacrest (also the host of Fox's "American Idol") interviews her.

A seven-second delay, standard for the show, will be in place, Rizzotti said.

Jackson is scheduled to be on ABC's "Good Morning America" before she visits Seacrest and on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" after, Rizzotti said.

The fallout from Jackson's Super Bowl antics has been extensive, with the public and politicians clamoring for the TV industry to clean up its act.
