We have a sad update to a story about NBC 41 Action News Anchor Elizabeth Alex. Last fall, her husband Brian was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Friday morning on Good Friday, Brian passed away. He was 51.
Brian was a thoughtful husband and father. He has two adult children, 30-year old Chris and 27-year old Sean. Elizabeth and Brian have a 5-year-old daughter named Maggie.
Brian liked to cook for Elizabeth and Maggie. Recently, Brian and Elizabeth owned a restaurant together in Old Lenexa. Brian's other passion was golf. In fact, Brian met Elizabeth on the golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. They spent a lot of time on the course.

Elizabeth and her family have set up two memorial funds in honor of Brian. They are:
